Sometimes brunch is a spontaneous choice based on what you're craving, sometimes it's a decision made out of proximity and sometimes you want it to be a technicolor, mimosa-fueled, gender bending event. When the latter is in order, Seattle's got a couple of spots where your Hostesses are indeed the Mostess. These ladies have it all and then some. The eggs and the sausage, if you will, to make your brunch a blast - not to mention the perfect Super Bowl Sunday alternative.
Mimosas with Mama runs every Sunday. For $25 you'll get the show featuring Mama Tits, a bountiful breakfast buffet and your first mimosa. "Show Only" tickets are $10 and the regular menu --featuring items like Washington Apple and Bacon Pancakes (three pancakes studded with Washington apples and brown sugar peppered bacon w/genuine Vermont Maple syrup - $10)-- is available if you prefer seated service. Online reservations are recommended.
Every third Saturday for a mere $10 (through Brown Paper Tickets), you can swing with Ms. Sylvia O'Stayformore and friends in Columbia City for a brunch that bills itself "fit for a Queen." The menu includes items like the Biscuit Bennie (biscuits with pimento cheese, tomato, country cream gravy and 2 poached eggs. Served with homefries - $9) Breakfast Enchilada (corn tortilla stuffed with yam and potato puree, roasted mushrooms and peppers, with two poached eggs. Served over black beans, topped with smoked tomato sauce and queso fresco - $10) and the Bacon and Bleu Scramble (bacon, caramelized onion and bleu cheese scramble. Served with toast and homefries - $10). Enjoy a Mimosa Royale (Cava with a float of St. Germaine - $ 7), Pomegranate Mimosa (Cava with a float of Pama liqueur - $7) Bellini (Cava with peach puree - $7) or a Bloody Mary done in Traditional ($7), Smokey ($8) and Wasabi ($7) varieties with the show.
