Hummingbird Saloon Opens; Seattle's Best Damn Happy Hour Debuts Tomorrow Night

Ken Anderson's brand new Hummingbird Saloon opened its doors at 5041 Rainier Ave. S. last week. Eater reports that the Columbia City Full Tilt proprietor converted an old print shop next door to his ice cream shop into a bar featuring booze and bites. Inside, you'll find stools salvaged from defunct punk bar the Fun House, a jukebox and a very big chess table.

Speaking of oversized games, a giant Jenga puzzle will make an appearance tomorrow night at the first-ever Seattle's Best Damn Happy Hour at the Seattle Center Armory from 5 to 8 p.m. Prizes from several businesses and arts groups, including Skillet Counter, the Pacific Northwest Ballet and Chihuly Garden and Glass will be up for grabs at the event. A happy hour menu includes $2.50 glasses of wine, $4 mixed drinks, $3 salmon sliders and fries from Quincy's and $4 individual cheesecakes from the Confectional. KEXP's DJ Alex is signed up to provide the evening's soundtrack.
