Vashon Island's excellent farm-to-table eatery La Boucherie is covering ferry fare for diners until the end of January. The restaurant in the heart of town at 17635 100th Ave. S.W. is owned by Vashon's Sea Breeze Farm. Customers who purchase meat, milk, or cheese from Sea Breeze's Ballard or U-District farmers market booths will receive a ferry reimbursement voucher to be redeemed at dinner. La Boucherie's weekly rotating menu features duck confit risotto and farmhouse beef pappardelle. The restaurant is closed Monday and Tuesday.

In other news, Urbane Market at the Olive 8 Hotel is partnering with the commander-in-chief's favorite chocolatier, Fran's to host an Inauguration Day party. On Monday, January 21 (the date of the swearing in ceremony) from 5 to 8 p.m., the specialty shop and coffee bar at 1635 Eighth Ave. is pairing Fran's chocolates and caramels with beverages. Expect espresso martinis, Lazy Boy Porter from Everett's Lazy Boy Brewing, and a lot of smoked salt milk chocolates. Fran's is also setting up a customizable hot chocolate bar for the occasion. Admission costs $12.
