Woodinville Scores Two New Restaurants

Lucky Woodinville. Opening this summer, the Woodinville Patch reports that Skillet founder Josh Henderson will launch a restaurant/bar in the current home of Hollywood Tavern (formerly Mabel's). The historic building at 14508 Woodinville Redmond Rd. NE has housed watering holes for more than 70 years.

Henderson foreshadowed his plan to partner in a new tavern earlier this year:

"There will be whiskey, cornhole, and cheeseburgers and it will be an awesome place to hang out outside in the wine country during the summer and also winter, as we'll have an outdoor fire pit."

After a venerable tenure, Hollywood Tavern will shutter this week.

Also opening in Western Washington's wine country: The folks behind Capitol Hill's Barrio and local chainlet Purple Cafe and Wine Bar are opening a new restaurant in Woodinville's Hollywood Vineyards this spring. The to-be-named dining spot at 14479 Woodinville Redmond Rd. sits in the same shopping center where Larry and Tabitha Kurofsky started their original Purple Cafe more than a decade ago. At almost 3,000-square-feet, the space will feature a self-service counter and bar with local beer, wine, and craft spirits from area distillers.
