Hitchcock Launches Happy Hour; Skelly and the Bean to Shutter

So long, Skelly
Part of the island winner's circle in this year's Snackdown, Bainbridge's Hitchcock at 133 Winslow Way E. has launched a new weeknight cocktail hour menu. On Monday through Friday from 5 to 6 p.m. and 9 to 10 p.m. Hitchcock offers Rainier tall boys for $2 and fresh Pacific oysters at $1 a pop. Tartines and duck liver quince parfaits are also offered for a steal.

Take note of Hitchcock's holiday hours before hopping on a ferry--the restaurant is closed Monday, December 10; Monday, December 24; Tuesday, December 25; Tuesday, January 1; and Wednesday, January 2.

In other news, we were rooting for Zephyr Paquette's Skelly and the Bean to break the curse covering the space formerly (and ever so briefly) occupied by a string of eateries, including Easy Joe's and Tidbit. Sadly, Seattle Met reports that Paquette will shutter the doors of her community-supported eatery at 2359 10th Ave. E. December 20. If Paquette doesn't turn into Food Network's next star she's planning to open again at a new address.
