It's not uncommon for medical-marijuana access points around town to offer a free medible to new patients, as a way to get you in the door that first time, and hopefully to build a business relationship with a potentially loyal customer. Such is the case at the Green Collar Club in Tacoma, which I recently visited for the first time.
My free medible was a little chocolate-covered peanut butter ball from the TopShelf Herb Company (THC; get it?), and according to the label, it contained 420 milligrams of THC, the main active ingredient in cannabis. While 420 mg is certainly a respectable dose, due to being, shall we say, accustomed to large amounts of cannabis, I consumed the peanut butter ball with a certain skepticism.
Surprisingly, the small treat did contain enough of the good stuff to noticeably break through my background level of cannabinoids. While the single chocolate-covered peanut butter ball didn't result in an earthshaking experience for me, it did produce some pleasant mellowness and a marked reduction in body pain, so I was quite happy with my freebie.
TopShelf Herb Company says that all three of the strains they cultivate in-house test about 20 percent THC. Vanilla Kush, Critical Kali Mist and Pineapple Chunk test in at 22 percent, 24 percent, and 25 percent THC, respectively. (In case you are less than familiar with THC amounts in cannabis, I should mention that these are very potent strains.)
Helping a lot was the fact that the taste was pleasant and fresh; if you like Reese's cups, you'll love these things.
Having had the single ball, I now would like to know what it feels like to have two of them. Wait, that didn't sound right. But in any event, I'd like to gobble three or four of these little guys just to see what happens.
