The Hours: Daily 3pm-6pm, Late Night HH, Fri-Sat 10pm-close
The Digs: Cool and modern collide with warm Asian influences at this upscale Thai eatery, where the aesthetics -- from the smartly dressed staff, to the subtle smooth jazz pumping through the house system, to the presentation of the food -- are all thoughtfully precise.
The Deal: Oysters Kumamoto ($6), Beef Short Ribs ($6), Crab Rangoon ($6) and Fresh Rolls (prawns or tofu, $5) are just a few of discounted delicacies on the generous happy hour food menu. Select wines are $4. The house martini selection features the likes of the Bang Bar Martini (choice of Sky Vodka or Beefeater Gin w/ blue cheese stuff olives), the Lemongrass Martini (muddled lemon grass, Hangar Lime Vodka, sweet & sour, S. Pellegrino, and simple syrup) and the Big Bang Cosmo (lime, lemon, Sky Citron, lychee liqueur, triple sec, sweet & sour, cranberry juice, and cherry stuffed lychee) for only $5.
The Verdict: Though Bang Bar's lounge is great for after work relaxing in West Seattle, it's also swank enough to constitute a date spot. It is the perfect Sunday afternoon compromise when she wants bargain, girly drinks and an excuse to dress up and he wants a chill place to take in the game that offers lots of deep-fried, albeit fancier, options.
