MMM, It's Marijuana Mississippi Mudcake

Mississippi mudcake -- a heavenly combination of chocolate, pecans, and gooey marshmallows -- is plenty decadent as is. Medicate the stuff with marijuana, and you've got a delicious, high carb way to spell relief and tickle your sweet tooth all at the same time.

When I saw mudcake in the medibles case at Tacoma medical marijuana access point Cannatonics, it was plenty tempting on its own. But when I noticed the little sticker affixed which said "Double Dose," I knew I had to have it, even at the double donation of $12 (most of Cannatonics' medibles are either $6 or $8).

The mudcake didn't disappoint. Fresh, moist, and delectable, it was every bit as delicious as any of its non-medicated counterparts. And of course, as good as it tasted, I didn't even try to stop myself from going ahead and having both slices of the "double dose."

The medicated Mississippi Mud Cake comes in two halves, and is labeled "Double Dose." I ate 'em both.

Now granted, my cannabis tolerance is in all likelihood substantially more than average (I have to dose big due to chronic pain issues), but the two doses' worth seemed to set me just about right. While $12 may seem a tad steep for what amounted to one effective dose, one does what one must to stay medicated.

If your tolerance is, like mine, elevated, you may want to consider taking the same course of action and consume both halves. If, however, it doesn't take as much for you, by all means try just one of the halves and then wait 45 minutes to hour to gauge the effects before having the rest.

While you're at Cannatonics, take the time to appreciate their 1930s style nostalgic drug store decor. They have an extensive line of medibles including cannabis peanut butter, coffee, honey, salsa, cookie dough, ice cream, soup and candy bars (and, of course, cannabis flowers, topicals and concentrates). Washington ID and medical marijuana authorization are required.

Cannatonics is located in The Passages Building at 708 Broadway in Tacoma, 2nd floor, Suite 202, but they ask that you please enter through Northwest Indoor Growing at 711 Court C (Opera Alley), behind 708 Broadway. You can call them at (253) 302-5539 or visit cannatonics.org.
