Hot Cakes Molten Chocolate Cakery Debuts in Ballard, I Love New York Deli Closes, & More"/>
First off, Autum Martin's Hot Cakes Molten Chocolate Cakery is now up and running at 5427 Ballard Ave. The founder of Seattle's notorious take-and-bake molten cakes says that opening her own shop has been a dream in the making for several years. Everything on the menu is made using only organic ingredients, including the creme brule, s'mores cookies, and even the -- wait for it -- grilled chocolate sandwiches. "We spread dark chocolate ganache between two slices of my favorite bread from Grand Central Bakery and grill it," Martin says. So how does Martin stay so svelte? She laughs. "Moderation!"
