The Place:Ocho, 2325 Northwest Market Street, 784-0699, BALLARD
The Hours: Weekdays 4pm to 6pm and Weekends 12pm to 6pm.
The Digs: Light and airy during the day and moody and candlelit at night, Ocho's cozy wood booths and always impressive music make it a great place for brunching, post-work cocktails, or fancy dates.
The Deal: $2 off Specialty house cocktails, including Ocho's famous 'Ten Dollar Margarita' and Sagrada Familia (pear brandy, lemon, Cava Rose)-- the purchase of which entitles you to the $2 Happy Hour menu featuring house favorites like Tortilla Espanola (a Spanish quiche), Banderilla de Chorizo (sausage skewer), Patatas Bravas (indescribably delicious fried potato bites) and nibbles like Almendras (almonds) and Aceitunas (olives).
The Verdict: Now that the cat's out of the bag, the perfect tapas brunch maybe a little harder to come by. Even with all the incredible deals at HH, you will inevitably find yourself ordering from regular Ocho menu. Items like the La Carolina (dates wrapped in pancetta, stuffed with blue cheese and topped with a balsamic reduction for $5) are so good and reasonably priced you will leave thinking about the next time you're coming back. Our check, for three people each having multiple drinks and a generous sampling of both menus, came in at around $65.
