In Ballard, restaurant-bar hybrid is opening at 5210 Ballard Ave. N.W. later this month. The Gerald will boast a Mad Men vibe and sling classic cocktails and gussied up versions of comfort foods like mac and cheese. You can check out Hanna Raskin's interview with the owners here. Also in the neighborhood, a second installment of Seattle Coffee Works is taking over the former Tully's space at 2060 N.W. Market St. on March 24.
In Fremont, a juice bar is set to debut in the former Cool Whirled space at 3420 Fremont Ave. in mid-March. Naos Lounge will feature juice, smoothies, and wheatgrass, as well as local beer and wine.In Greenwood, Kabab House at 8202 Greenwood Ave. N. is now closed. The owner cited unaffordable rent. However, loyal patrons can still enjoy the establishment's Pakistani and Indian cuisine if they're willing to commute for it. Kirkland Kabob House opened at 13108 N.E. 70th Pl. at the beginning of this year.
Lastly, over on the Eastside, a new winery is now open at 131 Lake Street South in downtown Kirkland.
