If you've ever wanted more sustenance than peanuts while drinking at the 9lb Hammer, you're in luck. Owner Scott Horrell is opening a 24-hour diner next door to the bar this spring, according to Seattle Magazine. The still unnamed establishment will serve straightforward breakfast items and grilled cheese sandwiches, as well as vegetarian-friendly fare.

In other news, West Seattle Blog reports that the folks behind food truck Athena's Gyros are opening a full-fledged restaurant in the former Zippy's space by April. Athena's will feature $10 and under burgers, gyros, and gelato. If you don't want another two months, the truck will be serving food on-site daily, starting this Friday at 1 p.m.

Lastly, Central District News shares that a coffee shop- sports bar hybrid is scheduled to launch at 19th Ave. S. and S. Jackson St. next month. Wonder Coffee & Sports Bar will feature casual American fare and a full bar that includes up to 50 beers on tap.
