It's a big week for Ballard. Bitterroot BBQ is now open at 5239 Ballard Ave. N.W. The establishment features "classic American barbeque," beer, and bourbon. Urban Family Public House is also now open at 5329 Ballard Ave. N.W.. The brewhouse boasts 24 Belgian and American taps. Lastly, The Kangaroo and Kiwi Pub is leaving Green Lake and taking over the former Carnegie's space at 2026 N.W. Market St. this April.The beloved Australian bar features authentic offerings from down under, including steak pie, vegemite sandwiches, and of course, plenty of beer.
8 Oz. Burger Bar
On Capitol Hill, 8 Oz. Burger Bar at 1401 Broadway Ave. opens today. The eatery will feature "signature burgers" made with hormone-free Black Angus sirloin. Also in the neighborhood, the website reports that St. John's Bar and Eatery is taking over the former Rosebud space at 719 E. Pike St. next month.Downtown, Cafe Suisse will open at 2008 Westlake Ave. in the next three weeks or so. The European-style coffee shop will feature Swiss hot chocolate and pastries.
In Magnolia, Josefina's Mexican Grill is now open in the former Melt Cafe space at 2818 Thorndyke Ave. W. The restaurant serves traditional Mexican fare and makes its corn tortillas by hand.
Over on the Eastside, in Kirkland, Bubble Me is now open at 238 Park Ln. in downtown Kirkland. The shop features bubble tea, smoothies, and crepes. Also in the neighborhood, Little Caesars Pizza is scheduled to open at 12620 N.E. 85th St. next Wednesday, January 25.
