Big news for Eastside residents: Federal Way's Tokyo Japanese Steak House is opening a downtown Bellevue location at 909 112th Ave Suite#108 this weekend. The teppanyaki showmanship (think Benihana) will take place in an impressive 9000-sqaure foot space. You can check out Hanna Raskin's interview with owner Bryan Joo's interview here.

On Capitol Hill, Mexican-Taiwanese restaurant Chino's made its public debut at 1025 E. Pike St. over the weekend. The establishment serves dishes inspired by Los Angeles street food, including gua bao (pork belly buns). Lucky 8's China House is scheduled to open in the Oola Distillery complex at 1314 E. Union St. by the end of the year. The restaurant will feature Chinese-American favorites, including hum bao and fried rice, all made in-house. Also in the neighborhood, Montana is taking over the space formerly occupied by The Buck at 1506 E. Olive Way on Capitol Hill. The come-as-you-are bar will feature several beers -- and even cocktails -- on tap, and owner Rachel Marshall will also use it as the headquarters for her beloved brand Rachel's Ginger Beer.

In Ballard, Bad Albert's Tap & Grill is finally open for business at 5100 Ballard Ave. N.W.. The beloved watering hole underwent remodeling for several months and loyal patrons noticed it twice missed its target date for getting back in the game.

In Belltown, The Upstairs has taken over the former McLeod Residence space at 2209 2nd Ave. It specializes in craft cocktails, but also offers an extensive beer and wine list. And in Madrona, June has closed a mere year after its splashy opening.

Over in Columbia City, Chelsea Deli at 4908-A Rainier Ave. S. is now closed. Pon Sakonthon, purveyor of its East Coast-style sandwiches, hopes to resurface with another restaurant project in the neighborhood at some point.

Downtown, Earth & Ocean inside the W Hotel at 1112 4th Ave. is closing for renovation. Its replacement - a restaurant called TRACE - will open its doors in March of next year.

On First Hill, German deli and coffee shop Kafe Berlin has debuted at 613 9th Ave. The menu features sausages and sandwiches, as well as pastries from West Seattle's Little Prague European Bakery.

And lastly, over on Mercer Island, Zaw Pizza is now slinging its artisan bake-at-home pies at 7635 S.E. 27th St.
