Capitol Hill's B&O Espresso Delays Closure, D'Ambrosio Gelato Expands, & More"/>
Blame it on the holidays -- it's a short week in restaurant openings and closings. The biggest buzz is on Capitol Hill, where D'Ambrosio Gelato is opening its second shop in the former Varro space at 1542 12th Ave. by "mid-winter." The location will be larger than the original in Ballard and offer more flavors and a larger vegan selection, as well as cannoli, panini, and espresso. Also, the neighborhood's oldest coffee shop B&O Espresso announced that it was closing after three-plus decades of business, due to a decline in business related to ongoing construction. But things are looking up for the establishment, which has since announced plans to stay in the building for another year. And lastly, Thai pop-up restaurant Little Uncle - formerly known as Shophouse - has opened its permanent take-out shop at 1509 E. Madison Ave..
