Red Pop, Halvah and Peanut Soup: It's the Voracious Citywide Scavenger Hunt

This could all be yours, if you know where to look.
A good palate is a matter of practice. Gourmands who can distinguish between the Black Mission and Brown Turkey figs buried in a fruitcake generally aren't gifted with a preternatural set of taste buds: They've eaten their way to connoisseurship, sampling a vast range of ingredients and traditional dishes.

But to eat all that food, they first had to find it. Serious food lovers are skilled in sussing out restaurants without addresses; grocery stores that double as barber shops and food trucks that might still be a certificate or two short of proper paperwork.

If you're ready to put your food-finding acumen to the test, we've got a scavenger hunt for you.

The first Voracious reader to locate all 10 items listed below will win a "Drinks and a Show" prize package, featuring two tickets to see 15-time Grammy winner Tony Bennett at the Paramount Theater (and a $30 gift certificate to Schwartz Brothers, so you can grab martinis at Daniel's Broiler beforehand) and two tickets to the 5th Avenue Theatre's production of Oklahoma!. There's also a $20 Senor Moose gift certificate in the basket, since most folks on the windswept plains these days like to drink margaritas.

You don't have to taste every item on the list (while we highly recommend it, we realize not every dish is suitable for every diet.) All entry to The Hunt Club requires is the name and address of where you found the product and a photo documenting the find. When you're done scavenging, send your complete list and pics to us at thehunt@seattleweekly.com. (No piecemeal entries, please.)

There are no right answers. Most of these items can be found at numerous places in and around Seattle. We're excited to discover where you find them.

A few final rules: Since the goal of the game is local exploration, items made in your kitchen don't count. The game ends on Dec. 7 at 11:59 p.m. If nobody has completed the hunt by that date, whichever scavenger found the most items will be declared the winner.

Good luck!
