Menchies and Yogurtland Take Over Seattle, Dulces Latin Bistro Moves Downtown, & More"/>
First up: FroYo is taking over the city! California-based chain Yogurtland is opening three more shops in the Seattle area at 2320 N. 45th St. in Wallingford, 4334 University Way N.E., and in the 200 block of Bellevue Way N.E. by year's end. Menchies is also adding three more shops in University Village, West Seattle, and Puyallup.
On Capitol Hill, Thai restaurant Artid Siam at 209 Broadway Ave. E. has closed after a mere four-month run.
Downtown, Dulces Latin Bistro is moving to the former Typhoon space at 1400 Western Ave. this October. Previously based in Madrona for 19 years, the beloved restaurant closed when business slowed from what the owners cited was the neighborhood's changing demographic.
In Magnolia, Uptown Espresso opens at 3223 W. McGraw St. next week. This marks the coffee company's ninth shop.
In Queen Anne, local chain Pasta & Co. closed its 2109 Queen Anne Ave. N. location last Sunday. No reason for the sudden closure is cited, but both the Bellevue and University Village locations are still in business.
And lastly, in Wallingford, Zaw Pizza hosts a grand-opening party at its new store at 4612 Stone Way N. tomorrow from 2 to 6 p.m. A white tent will be pitched in which patrons can enjoy free (!) samples of BBQ pizza, freshly baked cookies, and Dry Soda. Eastside residents can expect to see their own installment of Zaw at Tabit Village Square in Mercer Island this October.
