The neighborhood continues its Cinderella run in the Neighborhood Snackdown, knocking out South Lake Union in the quarterfinals. A full 52 percent of voters cast their ballots for White Center, delivering what amounts to a thrashing in a tournament marked by startlingly slim margins of victory.

In semi-final play this week, White Center will fight the Central District for a finals berth.

On the other end of the bracket, Wallingford nosed out Fremont by fewer than 200 votes. Wallingford will now face the International District, which defeated Ballard in a squeaker.

Third-round match-ups begin today. Remember, votes don't carry over, so it's critical you again make your neighborhood preference known. As always, voting closes on Sunday night.

May the best 'hood win.
