The Chapel will be sorely missed.
First off, in Ballard: Sunny Teriyaki at 2021 N.W. Market St., is reopening under new management. The Asian fast-food joint has a loyal following, despite having so much competition in the city.

On Capitol Hill, Chapel at 1600 Melrose Ave. will close its doors on September 3. The beloved bar was best known for both its extensive cocktail menu and its unique history as a mortuary. In more upbeat news, the neighborhood has a new American and Mexican food truck in the parking lot next to Gilda's at 1400 Broadway. Dora's Island serves hot dogs, hamburgers, and tamales.

In the U District, The Local Vine is set to open a second shop in University Village this fall. Unlike the original location on Capitol Hill, the new store, despite specializing in wine, will allow all ages. Also, Taverna MaZi is taking over the former La Piazza space at 3426 N.E. 55th St. The restaurant will serve Greek-inspired cuisine and cocktails. An opening date has not been set.

And lastly, in Wallingford, La Casa Azul plans to open a second location at 1715 N. 45th St. The original restaurant slings homemade Mexican cuisine in Greenwood.
