The Bangkok PB Sandwich at Grim's

Nothing is better than a peanut butter sandwich, and Grim's nails the classic dish with a Thai twist. The Bangkok PB is made with a spicy homemade coconut peanut butter spread (jalapenos give it the heat), cucumber, mint, and orange marmalade on a chewy baguette. It also comes with a side salad, but that's not important, nor will you likely have room for it after you polish off the main event.

The sandwich is based on owner Laura Olson's love for PB&J sandwiches, like the peanut butter and banana dog at Po Dog (which she also owns). The reason it tastes like a peanut butter/banh mi hybrid is because Olson uses ingredients from her Vietnamese grandmother's banh mi recipes. The final product is a successful attempt at providing a less heavy, fresh-tasting peanut butter sandwich. You don't have to love peanut butter to enjoy this sandwich, either. The mint, crispy cucumber and coconut balance the potentially overpowering peanut butter flavor, if there is such a thing.
