Sahara Pizza is coming to Ballard!
First off, in Ballard, beloved watering hole Bad Albert's Tap & Grill at 5100 Ballard Ave. N.W. is saying goodbye next month after 16 years of business. The owner cites both the economy and his own health issues. In more upbeat news for the neighborhood, Sahara Pizza is opening its first Seattle location on the corner of 15th Avenue Northwest and Northwest 65th Street. The pizza chain currently has 20 locations in the Northwest and two in South America.

On Capitol Hill, Taylor Shellfish is soon opening at 1521 Melrose Ave. The shop will sell fresh clams, oysters, scallops, and more delivered directly from the farms several times per week.

In South Lake Union, Jones Soda is leaving its post and moving into the Palmer Court Building at 1000 First Ave. S. in Pioneer Square. The local beverage company plans to offer more free samples to the public with its closer vicinity to the sports stadiums.

Over in West Seattle, wood-fired pizza parlor Pizzeria 22 is scheduled to open at 4213 S.W. College St. on Monday, June 27, followed by Irish pub A Terrible Beauty at 4752 California Ave. S.W. on Tuesday, June 28.

In White Center, a Filipino food truck has opened permanently in the parking lot at 1520 S.W. 100th St. Formerly located in the Central District, Sarap Café serves lumpia and noodle dishes, as well as American-friendly snacks like hot dogs, sandwiches, and nachos.

And lastly, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, the Virginia-based chain, is bringing its massive beef patties and baskets of complimentary peanuts to three new locations in the state. The establishments will be based in Bothell, Issaquah Commons, and Redmond's Overlake Fashion Plaza.
