Capitol Hill scored Yogurtland (pictured here) and more eats this week.Capitol Hill is the busiest neighborhood this week: Yogurtland is now open at 1620 Broadway Ave. This is the first Washington store for the California-based self-serve frozen-yogurt chain. Other additions: Gyro Cafe is slinging Mediterranean and Middle Eastern fare at 15th Avenue East, and soon, an upscale Cantonese restaurant called Bako is moving into the former Jade Pagoda space at 606 Broadway Ave. E. Less exciting: Patty Pan Cafe at 2310 E. Madison St. is closed after a mere five-month run. However, its healthy concession food will still be sold at markets across the city.
Over in Green Lake, PCC announced plans to launch a 10th location in a mixed-use project called Green Lake Village. But don't make plans to switch grocery-shopping locations just yet--the anticipated opening date is set for 2013.
And lastly, in White Center, the new Zippy's Giant Burgers space at 9614 14th Ave. S.W., which loyal customers expected to start this week, has pushed back its opening to Sunday, May 1.
