A new bakery opens for business in downtown Seattle today at 806 Pike Street. (Be sure to stop by for opening-day complimentary almond and coconut macaroons!) Wild Rye Café Bakery makes everything from scratch and in-house, including breads, pastries, soups, and sandwiches. Heading the efforts is chef Alex Shroff, previously the pastry chef at The Herbfarm Restaurant and pastry cook at Fairmont Olympic Hotel. Business hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays.
