The Place: Caribbean Casino, 12526 N.E. 144th St., Kirkland, 425-821-2222.
The Hours: 6 p.m.-2 a.m. (!) daily, with the exception of UFC viewing-party days.
The Digs: Located in the Kingsgate area of Kirkland, this tropical-themed mini-casino and poker room offers gambling, cheap drinks, and a menu that, like most casino menus, features everything from Philly cheese steaks to Mongolian beef. The clientele ranges from retirees looking for entertainment to 20-somethings wanting to get tanked without spending a fortune--the latter being a difficult feat to accomplish on the Eastside. The Deal: Half-price on all drinks. When you take into consideration that Casino Caribbean's prices are super-low to begin with, this is one hell of a steal. During happy hour, you can toss back $2.50 Jägermeister, $3 Grey Goose and $4 Patron shots, or take the laid-back approach and nurse $1.50 well drinks and draft beers, or, if you really want to save, $1 Miller.
The Verdict: An eight-hour happy hour qualifies as a happy day. And if you live on the Eastside, you'd be a fool not to take advantage of a bar that allows you to buy a round of top-shelf shots for 10 buckaroos. If you don't live on the Eastside and love to booze, it may be time to start looking for a house in the Kingsgate neighborhood.
