Now I know that most of you out there have already picked up your tickets for this year's Voracious Tasting & Food Awards, but do you know how I know that?
Because the event is more than a month away (on April 27) and tickets are already almost sold out. Which means that those of you who haven't yet scored yours really need to get on it.
As of this morning, I learned that there are only 207 tickets remaining. Of those, only 82 are general admission ($35) and 125 are VIP ($75)--meaning that you cheapskates should really get on the stick and order yours now, and those of you looking for the full-on Voracious Tasting experience (including the chefs' meet-and-greet, the gift bag, entrance to the private back-room party, and an arrival time one hour earlier than the hoi polloi) might have about 15 minutes longer before those VIP tix are gone, too.
And what will you be getting for your hard-earned dollars? Food, and lots of it (50 restaurants, all handing out samples, plus food trucks lined up out front to feed you while you wait). Drinks, and lots of them (10 bars, all pouring their best). Plus entertainment, by way of the Voracious Tasting Chef Showdown, which this year will see Rachel Yang facing off against defending champion Seth Caswell live onstage.
