Following up on this morning's epic post about the history of Olympia Beer, we are pleased to offer this to all the veteran barley-pop enthusiasts out there: a collection of vintage beer commercials, all focusing on Seattle's most fondly remembered brews.
The tag line on this Rainier commercial should've been: "Seattle: Land of Mountains, Sunsets, and Drunken Motorcyclists."
Olympia Brewing Company owned Hamm's for something like 30 years (which you'd know if you read this morning's history of Olympia beer). That makes it local enough for us.
Also, drinking it will apparently make you grow a wicked beard.
OK, now that shit was just weird . . .
Another one from Rainier. I have dreams like this every night.
You get the joke if you're old enough to remember Jacques Cousteau and his TV show. I am--a fact which makes me really want a couple tallboys right now.
And finally, a classic from Olympia: the beer of rugged outdoorsmen and huge fans of the glockenspiel.
