    Here's a recap of the week in restaurant news . . .

In Ballard, beloved European bistro Carnegie's, at 2026 N.W. Market St., will close at the end of this month. The building owner is currently searching for a new tenant.

Belltown residents scored a new eatery in the former Noodle Ranch space at 2228 Second Ave. Dope Burger features twice-ground, hand-packed patties and house-made milkshakes.

Exciting announcement on Capitol Hill: Acclaimed trattoria Cascina Spinasse at 1531 14th Ave. is almost doubling in size come spring. Once it expands to include the space next door, the owners plan to install a bar called Artusi and glass walls so diners can watch the cooks make pasta. Fingers crossed that David Beckham revisits to check out the changes! Also in the neighborhood: a new taco joint, Tacos Chukis, is coming to 219 Broadway Ave. E. in February, and a restaurant called Indochine Kitchen is replacing recently shuttered bar Kurrent at 600 E. Pine St.

In the Greenwood/Phinney Ridge area, The Phinney Market at 5918 Phinney Ave. N. is soon closing. A letter to customers on the market's website cites unaffordable rent and urges them to come in for a sandwich while they still can.

And lastly, a shocker: the 1957-born Seattle fixture Vince's at 8824 Renton Ave. S. in Rainier Beach is closing at the end of March. Owner Vince Mottola Jr. cites the economy and high overhead as reasons, but hopes to relocate elsewhere in the neighborhood in the future. Some consolation in the meantime: Longtime fans can still dine at the beloved restaurant's Burien, Renton, and Federal Way locations.
