CWU Wildcats love Wing Central! Will UW Huskies?
Here's your first installment of openings and closings in 2011 . . .

To start with a loss in Ballard: The beloved Totem House at 3058 N.W. 54th St. in Ballard has closed after a 71-year-run. Its chowder and fish and chips will be sorely missed.

On Capitol Hill, Maharaja at 720 E.t Pike St. has closed due to an unaffordable increase in rent. The owners hope to start serving their stiff drinks and late-night naan again elsewhere within the year.

Downtown, upscale French restaurant Campagne at 86 Pine St. will close its doors Saturday. The popular Pike Place Market destination plans to revamp its space and menu for the public by spring/summer.

Magnolia residents have a new Chinese restaurant at 2809 Thorndyke Ave. W. Hung De Asian Cuisine specializes in both Cantonese and Mandarin dishes.

Greenwood bids farewell to the 85th Street Cafe and Deli at 8420 Greenwood Ave. N. The owner previously stated he was remodeling, but the recent "For Sale" sign indicates otherwise.

In the University District, Wing Central has replaced Don Eduardo Family Mexican Restaurant at 4524 University Way. Wing Central is already well-versed in feeding college students--the original location is based in Ellensburg.

Lastly, in West Seattle, The Bohemian at 3405 California Ave. S.W. has shut its doors, citing, as many have at the start of this year, the economy.
