    The owner of Vashon Island's beloved watering hole The Hardware Store opened a business at 5001 25th Avenue Northeast in the University District. 50 North offers comfort food like fried chicken and burgers, much like what they're known for across the water.

    In other news, The Seattle Times reports that Roy's BBQ at 4903 1/2 Rainier Avenue South in Columbia City serves its last pulled pork sandwich on Saturday, January 9. The owner cites the economy and "personal" reasons."

    TosT at 513 North 36th Street closes at the end of this year, according to Fremont Universe. The bar has been sold to new owners and undergoes remodeling soon. Stay tuned for more deets.

    And lastly, West Seattle Blog reports that SeaMart at 16th Southwest Holden Street is in judicial foreclosure. Whether the other businesses based in the building, Zibby's Giant Burgers and JoJo's Fine Espressso, emerge unscathed remains to be seen.
