A win and a loss for Ballardites: Lunchbox Laboratory at 7302 15th Avenue Northwest closes on Sunday, December 19. But loyal customers needn't worry; it comes back bigger and better at 1253 Thomas Street in South Lake Union at the end of January. Also, 5 Corner Market Restaurant and Bar is up and running at 2200 Northwest Market Street. In charge of the gastropub's kitchen is Chef Sam Crannell, formerly of Quinn's and Oddfellows.
In Belltown, Wasabi Bistro is scheduled to reopen in February 2011. The popular sushi restaurant and bar, which was closed for several months of remodeling, will still be located at 2311 2nd Avenue.Capitol Hill scores three popular eateries: Firstly, High 5 Pie opens shop on Friday, December 31. (If you're impatient, the public is welcome to a sneak peak the day prior!) Secondly, Hawaiian - Korean fusion truck Marination Mobile plans to open a permanent eatery - with an expanded menu - in the Harvard Market above QFC at 1401 Broadway Avenue. And thirdly, Samurai Noodle no. 3 will take over the former Bailey-Coy Books space at 414 Broadway Avenue East.
In Fremont, Chefs Seif Cherchi and Rachel Yang of Joule announced that their highly anticipated restaurant and bar opens at 403 North 36th Street this Friday, December 17. Revel will feature Asian street food-inspired cuisine, while Quion will serve beer, wine, and Soju cocktails.
Queen Anne View residents should be on the lookout for a bubble tea - coffee shop at 594 3rd Avenue West. No information is available at this time other than a sign in the retail space's window, so stay tuned for more deets.
And lastly, in West Seattle, a new restaurant called Locöl is scheduled to start serving soups, sandwiches, and local beers and wines at 7202 35th Avenue Southwest by month's end.
