JoJo's a Casualty of Zippy's War

Unsurprisingly, JoJo's is not named for former Boston Celtic great JoJo White.
Over the last week, both the West Seattle blog and Voracious' Leslie Kelly have posted harrowing accounts of how Seattle's best burger place, Zippy's, might soon be rendered homeless due to the mortal delinquency of its landlord at 16th & SW Holden. Zippy's future is as yet uncertain, although it's hard to imagine landlords with vacant storefronts--we're lookin' at you, whoever owns the too-long-dormant Chuck & Sally's Tavern property in the Morgan Junction--wouldn't line up to lure the smash-hit patty-crafters to their door.

However, a more established, under-the-radar Highland Park favorite, JoJo's Fine Espresso, has resigned itself to the fact that it will soon pull its last latte.

JoJo's owner Jodi Robbins tells contributing SW photographer and Highland Park resident Li'l Scoop the bus-stop coffee hut will stay open "as long as supplies last," and estimates that'll mean sometime next week, leaving shitty 7-Eleven coffee as Highland Park residents' most reliable (legal) source for a morning pick-me-up. As for relocating JoJo's, the Tug has a big ol' parking lot off Delridge that's generally pretty available before noon. Look west, Ms. Robbins--a thatched roof and affordable drip are terrible things to waste!
