The Alki Bakery has abruptly closed its namesake beachfront location, citing lease issues. But hey, no worries: the bakery's heavy-industrial locations in Georgetown and Kent are still alive and yeasting.
Alki Bakery patrons will now have to content themselves with more industrial views.
As for the diminished view, warehouses have a certain beauty to them; it's just more of an acquired taste. What's important is that the Alki brand is still subject to SoCo extension, keeping Harbor Avenue stocked with lowered Toyotas with spoilers and spinners during the summer months. That's what makes the Alki experience, not bread and coffee!
