The former Denny's Restaurant space at 5501 15th Avenue Northwest in Ballard has been purchased by a Chicago real estate investment firm for $12.5 million, according to The Puget Sound Business Journal. The Grand Slam-slinging establishment - which preservationists once fought to have marked as a local landmark - was demolished back in 2008.

In other news, MOD Pizza is expanding again. The company, which currently has locations in downtown, U-District, and Bellevue, reveals on its website that a Capitol Hill location is "coming soon." Stay tuned for more deets.

Lastly, Ravenna Blog reports that the Himalayan Kitchen at 2255 Northeast 65th Street is now closed.
