A bittersweet goodbye to supersweet Curio Confections...
It's been quite a week in Seattle restaurant-related news; we have more closings than openings to cover in this recap. (If it's any comfort, free pie is involved in the mix, too!)

First off, Belltown lost beloved Spanish-French bistro Brasa. After operating the business for more than a decade, its owners have decided to pursue other opportunities.

University District shop Curio Confections closes its doors this Sunday. Be sure to stop by that day (10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.) for a free (!) slice of pie.

Over in Georgetown, vegan eatery Squid & Ink closed its doors; rumor on Yelp is the owners are moving the business elsewhere. (We'll keep you posted.)

Lastly in closings, Capitol Hill's revered tavern The Roanoke is losing its lease after 15 years, due to an unaffordable increase in rent. Its folks have until July 31 to move out and are looking for a new space.

In brighter news, Capitol Hill residents did score a new banh mi shop: Ni Sandwich on the 200th block of Broadway. All sandwiches and bubble tea are priced at $3.50 and under.

Ballard gets pizza, sandwiches, and buffalo wings via Stackers Pizza and Subs on May 31, according to My Ballard.

University Village Mall gains a Boom Noodle on July 1.

Also: Majorie opened its doors this week, as did June. (For the umpteenth time let us reitterate, we are referring to Vuong Loc's new restaurant, not the month.)

    Until next time...
