    Employees at Mr. Spot's Chai House (5463 Leary Ave. N.W.), a local hangout featuring live music throughout the week, have been telling customers that this month will be their last. MyBallard got in contact with one of Mr. Spot's workers, who claimed that the decision was made because of rent increase. It is yet to be determined whether it will reopen in a different location.

    In Central District News, the new Mexican restaurant El Mestizo (526 Broadway) has just applied for its liquor license. Meanwhile, on Capitol Hill, Chungee's Drink and Eat (12th and Denny) is only one inspection away from opening, according to the Capitol Hill blog. The new restaurant will serve Cantonese food.

    Pnk Restaurant & Ultra Lounge plans to open on the fourth floor of Pacific Place (600 Pine St) this spring. Seattle Metropolitan reports that its brother/sister ownership team has run three lounges in Denver. And new lunch spot opened in Magnolia just a few days ago--Melt Cafe (2818 Thorndyke Ave. W.), which serves healthy, homemade treats Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. A reader of the Magnolia Voice has already posted a positive review, claiming their mac & cheese is the best she's ever had.
