Openings & Closings: Calf & Kid Artisan Cheese Coming Soon, Chiso Kappo on the Move"/>
According to the Capitol Hill Seattle, Sheri LaVigne has signed a lease at the Melrose Project (1531 Melrose Ave.) for The Calf & Kid Artisan Cheese Shop. The shop will be neighbors with Sonic Boom, Terraplata, and the new Sitka and Spruce. The official opening day has yet to be determined.
A Peruvian cafe will be making its home in Ballard, as reported by some My Ballard readers. Cafe Cuzco (15th Ave NW and NW 57th St.) will offer espresso, pastries, and possibly entrees -- though no word on that front yet.
On the move, Taichi Kitamura (the sushi chef behind Chiso and its upstairs neighbor, Chiso Kappo) will be moving Kappo to a new location in Eastlake come spring. The Seattle Times reports that the sushi chef will keep running Kappo until possibly February. In the meantime, Chiso will stay in Fremont and be run by current kitchen manager Hiro Kirita.
