Steelhead Diner co-owner Kevin Davis is returning to his roots -- sort of. The Seattle Times reports that the former chef at Oceanaire will be using his former employer's space to open Blueacre Seafood. Davis and his partner Terresa Davis left Oceanaire in 2006. The high-end seafood restaurant closed in July after its parent company filed for bankruptcy. Blueacre's menu will focus on American seafood. It is scheduled to open in spring.

The Queen Anne View reports that Blush, a lounge and dance club, will open on New Year's Eve in the former Minnie's and Whym storefront on Denny and First. The 21-and-over, two-bar club will have a VIP lounge (of course) and a dance floor. Free Appetizers and Champagne will be served at the grand opening party on the Eve. Whym closed earlier this year.
