(November in Seattle?)

Booze at the Mall - The Washington State Liquor Control Board has opened four temporary liquor stores in four different shopping malls around the sound, one in Bellingham and the rest:

Pacific Place (600 Pine St., downtown Seattle)

Alderwood Mall (3000 184th St. S.W., Lynwood)

The Commons (1928 South Commons, Federal Way)

The stores will operate until December 31st. The WSLCB wants to generate an additional $3.8 million dollars in revenue. Movie theaters are hoping for no increase in drunk and disorderlies.

"I am them." - A 49 year old Wisconsin woman with a blood alcohol level of over twice the legal limit (0.17) called 911 to report herself as driving under the influence. (Link has 911 call audio.)

For Sale: Pabst, Schlitz, Schmidt - The New York Post reports that Pabst Brewing Company is up for sale. Pabst is one of the only privately held breweries of its size. At a time when many large breweries are privately freaking out over tiny losses in their huge market share, the Pabst brand is strong thanks to its continued hipster status.
