Columbia City Bakery has been selling Equality Cookies--1,676 at last count--in support of Referendum 71, donating $1 for each cookie sold to Washington Families Standing Together. This coming Wednesday, October 14, for its fourth anniversary, every dollar you spend all day long at Columbia City Bakery will go to the Rainier Valley Food Bank. Looks like bagel dogs for lunch next week. (Columbia City Bakery, 4865 Rainier Ave. S., 723-6023, Mon-Fri 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sat-Sun 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)

Then join us later that day at the Seattle Weekly's first Happy Hour for Hope at the Tap House Grill downtown (1506 6th Ave.) from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., where all pints of Labatt Blue will be $2. This month's happy hour benefits Farestart. (P.S. There are still reservations available for Farestart's $25 guest dinner night with Poppy's Jerry Traunfeld on November 12.)
