Most of us grew up watching National Geographic films of Jane Goodall communing with chimpanzees. Meet and talk with the 75-year-old researcher, animal activist, and environmentalist -- in Fremont, over chocolate.
On Saturday, Sept. 12, at 12:30 p.m., Goodall will be appearing at Theo Chocolate Factory to present her new book, Hope for Animals and Their World: How Endangered Species Are Being Rescued From the Brink, written with Thayne Maynard and Gail Hudson. If we want to continue to eat currently at-risk species like bluefin tuna -- not as endangered delicacies, but as sustainable harvests -- it might be wise to pay attention to how other (non-food) animals have been brought back from the edge of extinction.
