Monday Announcements: Assaggio & Booze, Japanese Are Unique #451, Vita Makes You a Coffee Maker"/>
Assaggio Ristorante (2010 4th Ave.) is opening a bar, il Baretto to be exact. The small bar will have draft beer and focus on Italian style cocktails. Better to serve the hoards waiting for a table on Friday nights. Bunny Petting Cafe - Not brought to you by Hugh Heffner, this cafe has rabbits on staff, available for cuddling. That's kawaii culture gone too far, don't you think? Takes the phrase "bunny ranch" to a new PG place. I wonder how many "staff" meet their Shinto gods each week, as bunnies are notoriously death prone in captivity (or at least amongst my ten cousins). Only in Japan. Seriously, WTF? That being said, they have a gift shop and the store is pee your pants cute. Website includes bunny photos reminiscent of mail order bride profiles.
Caffe Vita can make YOU a barista. Now all you have to do is save your pennies for your own personal Synesso. Their first Public Brewing School class deals with the Melitta, and if you don't know what that is, just brew yourself another cup of Folger's and forget about it. First class is this Thursday at 6:00 p.m. on Capitol Hill. Admission is $45 per person and you can sign up by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
