The epicenter of retail gulch in downtown Seattle offers little excitement in the food department, except for crepes and dogs. The former, Mobatta Crepes, has an outpost in the food court on the third floor of Westlake Center but also operates a crepe cart parked outside Talbot's on the Pine Street side of the building.
It may not have the glamor of the new upscale food truck grub sweeping the city, but the crepes here are extra large and are always served with a good attitude and a crispy edge. Keeping it short and mostly sweet, the cart offers Nutella, ham-n-cheese, and butter & sugar crepes at $5 each, banana being the one add-on option, along with a small selection of drinks. (Mobatta Crepes, Westlake Center, corner of 5th & Pine, Mon-Fri 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sat 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sun 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
