I must admit that I already had American Pie on my mind after looking at all of Kevin Casey's pictures accompanying Jonathan Kauffman's pie feature this week. But after seeing that Jason Biggs--aka "Jim"--was attacked by a monkey while hiking in Gibraltar, I decided it was time to take a look at what they crew's been up to. I mean, are they really only making headlines when they're attacked by primates?
It's hard to believe that we got our first serving of American Pie 10 yeas ago. But I think it is clear that a decade later, we've never looked at pie -- apple or otherwise -- the same. Here's a look back at 10 serious years of pie, and what's happened to Pie's leading men.
Jim: Guys, uh, what exactly does third base feel like?
Oz: Like warm apple pie.
Jim: Apple pie, huh?
Oz: Uh huh.
Jim: McDonald's or homemade?
Mr. Levenstein: "We'll just tell your mother that we ate it all."
Eugene Levy, aka "Jim's Dad" or "Mr. Levenstein," has been in eight American Pie installments, including American Wedding, American Pie Presents Band Camp, and American Pie: Book of Love, currently in post-production, according to IMDB.
After making the first three American Pie movies, Eddie Thomas landed roles in the Harold & Kumar films, American Dad, and Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist. He was with Biggs when the latter was attacked by a monkey.
Steve Stiffler: "I say, why don't you guys locate your dicks, remove the shrink wrap, and fucking *use* them!"
Seann William Scott, aka "Stiffler," has had perhaps the best post-Pie run of the group. He starred opposite The Rock in the surprisingly entertaining The Rundown in 2003. And recently he's been seen and heard in Ice Age and Role Models. Yes, he was also in The Dukes of Hazzard with Willie Nelson.
"No longer will our penises remain flaccid and unused! From now on, we fight for every man out there who isn't getting laid when he should be! This is our day! This is our time! And, by God, we're not gonna let history condemn us to celibacy! We will make a stand! We will succeed! We will get laid!"
Thomas Ian Nicholas gave a great little speech in the first American Pie installment, but was essentially phased out over the next two films. He put out a record, Without Warning, last year.
And, yes, Jason Biggs, aka "Jim." After doing a pie in volume 1, Biggs made the next two Pie flicks as well as a Pepsi commercial, and appeared in Will & Grace. He'll always be remembered as Jim. "Did you see 'The Little Mermaid' on TV yesterday? Ariel, she's so hot!" Oz: "She's a mermaid, dude." Jim: "Yeah, but not when she's on land, Oz."
