On Wednesday, June 24th the Palace Ballroom (Fifth & Lenora) will host a gaggle of visiting Italian winemakers from what I won't even pretend isn't my most favorite wine region in the entire world. Festa Piemontese will feature the winemakers of
Produttori del Barbaresco, Cantina del Pino, Podere Ruggeri Corsini and more, showcasing the unique grapes of the region. They're even travelling with their own chef, Marco Forneris of the much fawned over Osteria La Libera in Alba, who will work with the Palace to pair bites for the different wines.
Piedmont is known for the richness of its food--risotto, mushrooms, and truffles; but the wines of this region are anything but seasonal and go so well with our Northwest late spring bounty. Porcinis or morels with nebbiolo will make you forget pinot noir's name entirely.
