In approximately one hour, Seattle will join cities in five other states in a simultaneous toast of Pacifico's new 7 oz. beer bottle--two of which are pictured above, bookending their bigger forebear. (Thanks, Pacifico!). Coronita: You're on notice!
This isn't the only unusual drink to which Seattle boozers have recently been privy; I hear we were one of a select number of cities to enjoy Maker's Mark's mint julep during the Derby weekend earlier this month. So we're pretty cool.
Full press release on the new Pacifico beer--including toast locations (sorry for the late notice!)--after the jump:
PACIFICO BEER TO HOST "SMALLEST" TOAST IN SEATTLE AND BAR THROUGHOUT THE U.S.
-- Pacifico Fans will Toast new 7 oz. Beer at Bars in Washington, California, Nevada, Texas, Louisiana, Oregon and Idaho on May 21 at 7 p.m. --
Pacifico beer, an authentic pilsner-style beer from Mexico, is celebrating the launch of their new 7 oz. beer by holding the World's "Smallest" Toast at bars across the country, including bars in Seattle. The new 7 oz. bottle is now available in select west coast states including California, Louisiana, Nevada, Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Texas and on Thursday, May 21 at 7 p.m., patrons at bars in each of those states will raise the 7 oz. bottle to toast the launch.
The Pacifico 7 oz. is a smaller version of the traditional 12 oz. bottle, and its smaller size makes it ideal for ordering in buckets, keeping beer cold longer and bringing to parties and luaus. The beer is launching in west coast markets, where the beer was first introduced from California surfers bringing it back from surf trips in Baja California, Mexico.
All bars hosting the toast will offer the new beer on special, with giveaways and a chance to be featured on the Pacfico web site, www.mexicoviapacifico.com. The World's "Smallest" Toast with the 7 oz. will take place simultaneously at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, at bars receiving the beer. Bars in the Seattle-area participating in the toast include:
