Seatle Beer Week: Friday, May 11 Highlights

Two more days of beer madness. Are you exhausted yet? You'd be remiss to not catch some of the events of the anchor leg...

WTF? Brewfest at Beveridge Place: Enjoy all the quirks of the beer world: the oak-aged, spiced, soured, and more, with over a dozen rare oddballs on tap all weekend. I can vouch for Elysian's peppercorn saison, and there will also be Allagash's Hugh Malone, Fish Brewing's Ten Squared, a curry Rauchbier from Trade Route, Hitachino espresso stout, and many more. (Beveridge Place Pub, 6413 California Ave. S.W., 3:00pm Friday & Saturday)

Bottleworks Grand Re-Opening: In less than an hour, you can hit the kegs at Bottleworks and help them celebrate their remodel with Pliny the Younger, Consecration, the Bottleworks 10 ale from New Belgium, and Elysian's Bitch From the Wood. If you know what those phrases mean, chances are you're already moving towards your car, bike, or bus. (Bottleworks, 1701 N. 45th St., 11:00am to 8:00pm)

English Pub Night at the Duck Island: The Duck will feature loads of English beer and serve bangers and mash, but you can still chase your pints with food from Beth's, I'm sure. (7317 Aurora Ave. N., 6:00pm)

Tastings/beer nights: Come shmooze with Allagash brewer Robb Todd as he holds court at Seattle's best little Belgian bar. I assign their tripel to you as homework; report back. (Stumbling Monk, 1635 E. Olive Way, 7:00pm) Mitch Steele of Stone Brewing is hanging at The Dray, and if you haven't been by this week, you're missing all manner of rare and lovelies. (The Dray, 708 N.W. 65th St., 7:00pm)
