One Sweet Weekend and Bastille in July

For those of us with a sweet tooth or a birthday for that matter, this week couldn't be more perfectly timed. Belltown's Yellow Leaf Cupcake Co. as well as Wallingford's Fainting Goat Gelato softly opened their doors last weekend.

In renovating news, B&O Espresso has done a little moving and shaking. According CHS, the restaurant's bar has moved allowing for easier access and more dining seating. My Ballard reports that Hamburger Harry's applied for and is now using outdoor seating just in time for summer.

Boasted as the return of some big names in the restaurant world, Bastille is scheduled to open in July in Ballard's Obermaier Machine Works building. According to Eat + Drink, the French cafe will feature chef Shannon Galusha (of Veil), and Peter Lewis (of Campagne) managing front-of-the-house. A complete overhaul of the space will leave Bastille with a 60-seat bar, 40- seat outdoor patio, and a rooftop garden to boot, where seasonal veggies and herbs will be grown on site.

CHS reports rumblings of a new restaurant that might be taking over El Tajin's old spot on Broadway. So far there is only a note on the door calling for cooks, but for this end of Broadway something is better than nothing.
