If you're not a big fan of crowds or all the hoopla that comes with going out on Valentine's Day, but you still want a romantic meal with your sweetie, check out Palisade's Valentine's lunch deal. The beauty of lunch instead of dinner is less: less money, as the four-course meal for two is a reasonable $48; less people, since it's the middle of the day; and much less pressure because, well, it's lunch. Instead of feeling like you're supposed to be gazing meaningfully into each other's eyes, you can chat about what you plan to do with the rest of your day while enjoying the fabulous view of the Sound. $48 per couple. 11:15 a.m.-2 p.m. Through Feb. 13.

If you want to do all your celebrating in one convenient location, make your reservations with The Palace Ballroom, where chef Tom Douglas is inviting guests to party it up at the Heart and Soul fest. The Southern-inspired soul-food menu includes oysters on the half-shell, low-country pickled shrimp, fried green tomatoes, and fried chicken with waffles. For a sweet treat, a pie station will be yours for the plundering. Yes, you read that right--an entire pie station. Feel free to indulge, because afterward you'll be dancing to tunes spun by KEXP's DJ Chilly. Here's two more appealing options: The newly refurbished TASTE at SAM is hosting a four-course meal that includes caramelized fennel gnocchi and classic duck confit with an optional wine pairing ($49 per person). Monsoon and its sister location Monsoon East will also be serving a special four-course tasting menu with optional wine pairing; dishes will include Kusshi oysters on the half-shell, pan-seared Diver scallops, Nem Nuong stuffed quail, and a molten chocolate cake ($65). 5-10 p.m.
