I've been looking for this stuff ever since I attended a North Berkely tasting at The Corson Building and ate about a quarter of a pound of it a few weeks ago. ...OK, after I found some stray mix littering my pocket yesterday. Fried favas, walnuts, pistachios, chick peas, and--be still my heart--corn nuts. (aka I am an asshole.) This nut mix was sooo good, my friend Catherine Reynolds (formerly of The Spanish Table) and I swore it was the real thing, from Spain, but I should have confirmed with The Corson Building. TURNS OUT: The TCB guys made it themselves. Call me impressed. Also, they may begin selling it soon. Soon enough for Sunday? Drat.
