Erring on the high side, I calculated my egg nog recipe, about whose unchecked decadence many have written me, to weigh in at 290 calories and 15 grams of fat per six ounce serving. That's similar to drinking a candy bar or a short Starbucks hot chocolate with whole milk (286 calories and 17 grams of fat, according to their website). A regular size Arby's Jamocha shake has 498 calories and 13 grams of fat.
So you can and will do worse just going out for fries and a shake, or your morning beverage. Hell, some of you may save in calories by switching to nog.
